The System Modeling Engineer is a member of a team chartered with virtual platform creation for next-generation SoC’s targeted at wireless client devices. The virtual platforms are used for software development, system-level verification, and for model-based architectural exploration. The team works closely with system architects and design engineers to model proposed architectures at varying levels of abstraction, and with software engineers who run software on the models. The team must be skilled in programming (C and C++), and hardware modeling concepts.
-BS EE or CS with 2 years experience in SoC design, model development, or embedded C++ development; MS preferred
- Strong C skills are required; Strong C++ skills including object-oriented design, multiple inheritance, and templates are desired
- Ability to debug complex, multi-threaded programs is required
- SystemC experience is desired
- Familiarity with hardware modeling concepts (levels of abstraction – PV, PVT, CC; concurrency, transaction-level modeling, etc.) is required
- Familiarity with OSCI TLM interfaces is desired
- Embedded systems programming experience is strongly desired
- ARM and/or Star*Core assembler programming experience is desired
- Verilog PLI experience is helpful
- Strong English oral and written communication skills are required
