For one of our clients, a word-leading supplier of Identification and Border Management Software Systems with the headquarter in Canada, we are looking for an System Engineer for its office based in Bucharest.
Responsibilities:
Providing technical support to end-users throughout the product development and implementation process.
Maintaining, troubleshooting and administrating the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment;
Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications
Monitoring functioning of equipment and making necessary modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
Implementing network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
Analysing information to determine, recommend, and plan layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications.
Building, testing and modifying product prototypes, using working models or theoretical models constructed using computer simulation.
Analysing user needs and recommend appropriate hardware.
Selecting hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements.
University degree in technical discipline, preferably in Engineering and Science;
At least 2 years relevant experience in system support;
Good knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Experience in SLES 10 is a plus;
Experience in presenting complex networking and telecommunications solutions;
Hardware knowledge on computers and peripherals;
Knowledge of network devices, VPN, Cisco;
Good knowledge of PC, MS Office applications;
Excellent knowledge of oral and written English;
Ability to travel in-country and abroad;
Self motivated team worker;
Problem solving skills;
Analytical thinking ability and result oriented;
CCNA / CCNP Certifications required, specialization preferred.
