We are looking to hire ¿¿¿Supplier Collaboration Engineers¿¿¿ from Romania to be working remote for France and Belgium. These candidates will reside in Romania but will be required to our Caterpillar Gosselies and/ or Grenoble plants along with our European supply base. Travel will be at 50 - 75% of their time.
French will be an important language since our 2 plants that we will be supporting that is their language. English will also be needed so we can communicate to them.
These employees will have to be capable of being managed via teleconferences/ emails and be able to clearly communicate business cases (at least clearly documented on a PowerPoint presentation of their workload/ projects).
Main projects the candidates will be working on are providing value analysis engineering and design for manufacturing and cost on Caterpillar parts that have been sourced to suppliers. Parts could have very high cost/ kg ratios or designs that can be simplified or optimized to a manufacturing process.
Candidate will not see the manufacturing process side. Our job ¿¿¿Supplier Collaboration Engineer¿¿¿ is more from manufacturing process side, starts with assessing the process, fixing the gaps and then moving to supplier side for collaboration on cost, quality and timeliness of delivery. That¿¿¿s the reason why we want strong understanding and experience on the given manufacturing process areas as well as ability to work with the suppliers. Even if the candidate doesn¿¿¿t have supplier side experience strongly, we can train you, but you need to be strong on the manufacturing side.
The very good news is that we are keen to see senior folks who can work from home as well.
EDUCATION
¿¿¿ Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering/ Technology or similar.
EXPERIENCE
¿¿¿ 12 years minimum of experience working in this environment and a thorough understanding on manufacturing processes, even retired engineers can be considered;
¿¿¿ Light Fabrications - various components that are usually under 10mm thickness (hoods, fenders, ladders, stairways, tanks, etc);
¿¿¿ Heavy Fabrications - more complex structures that are over 10mm that may require top level machining (frames, lift arms, towers, rails, supports);
¿¿¿ Engine Installation and Cooling components - hoses, tubes, both light and heavy fibs (mounts, brackets, grilles, etc.);
¿¿¿ Cabs - fabricated cable structure along with miscellaneous components;
¿¿¿ Expert in 1st Operations;
¿¿¿ Expert in Forming;
¿¿¿ Expert in Welding;
¿¿¿ Expert in Machining;
¿¿¿ Expert in Costing.
MANUFACTURING EXPERTISE
¿¿¿ 1st/ 2nd Operations - laser/ plasma cutting, bevel burning, tube lasers, levelers;
¿¿¿ Metal forming - press brakes, blanking, shears, stamping, hydro forming, tube bending;
¿¿¿ Welding - both manual and robotic MIG;
¿¿¿ Machining - Flexible Machining Systems, Horizontal and Vertical Mills/ Lathes of both castings and fabrications;
¿¿¿ Costing Experience in quoting or assisting in the quoting process for both piece parts and tooling.
AREA OF EXPERTISE
