- For one of our clients, a multinational company, global leader in technology and services, one of the world's leading technology companies with 140.000 employees serving more than one billion customers in more than 178 countries on six continents, we are looking for a SUN Servers Migration Engineer.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Working for SUN applications re-hosting and Sun Server database migration;
- Being involved in the migration of SUN Server customer environment at the country level in the EMEA region;
- Being engaged on the projects by the country sales and pre-sales consultants from either the products or the services organization;
- Participating in all stages of the SUN environment migration, from customer requirements analysis and environment assessment up to the targeted system configuration, application re-hosting, database migration, solution testing and customer support;
- Acting mainly during the pre-sales phase of the customer projects;
- Contributing actively in the success of SUN customer environment migration toward HP based platforms running HP-UX or Linux.
- University or equivalent degree, in IT or relevant business area;
- 3 years of relevant professional IT background;
- Operating Systems: SUN Solaris, HP-UX, Linux;
Database Systems: Oracle;
- Sun Solaris and Sun Solaris Software experience;
- Experience in porting Oracle DB & Applications from Sun Solaris to HP (HP-UX or Linux);
- Strong interest in working in SUN migration projects;
- Fluent in conversational, written and technical English;
- Excellent communication skills in writing, presenting and listening;
- Strong analytical skills working in a highly complex IT environment;
- Ability to assimilate information and build new expertise quickly;
- Strong interpersonal skills: able to collaborate and work in a virtual team, good initiative and follow-up;
- Flexibility to travel;
- Other foreign language knowledge is a plus (German, Spanish, French, Italian).
