• Monitors and interprets tax law changes, relevant trends in taxation.
• Grants support to Statutory Accounting by assisting in checking and posting all monthly statutory accounting transactions. Records the differences between GAAP and Statutory accounting.
• Assists all Finance staff to ensure compliance of company operation with all Romanian fiscal and accounting regulations.
• Provides support in creating and maintaining a network of connections with external regulatory bodies (Ministry of Finance, Financial Administration, CP auditor).
• Participates in preparation of the half-yearly balance sheet and annual balance sheet
• Provides accounting support as required by the Romanian statistical authorities.
• Is back-up for treasury analyst (for multicash payments).
• Records payroll tax liabilities (including GAAP).
• Reconciliation gaap/statutory for monthly balance sheet.
• Have interpersonal skills which will enable her/him to create a network of contacts
• Analytical skills are a must for the position
• Adaptability and commitment to company goals
• Is proactive and energetic
Specific requirements
• Have thorough and in-depth knowledge of Romanian tax laws and principles (income taxes) and of statutory accounting, of tax regulations as related to transactions, financing, employee benefit plans executive compensation and expatriate compensation.
• High proficiency in English language and computer literacy are a must (knowledge of Lotus, Excel) with the ability to learn new systems
• Knowledge of GAAP is a big plus
Education and Experience required
• University degree in economics
• 3-4 years of similar position or a position in statutory accounting or exposure in a multinational company
