This is a senior management role with ownership of Engineering (Development and Quality Assurance) for Ixia’s network test solutions. These core platform and infrastructure teams include engineers in hardware/FPGA, Linux/Kernel, and Windows client software (C++/C#).
This senior manager will be responsible for the following:
- Full management responsibility of the team (with Managers of Dev and QA reporting directly)
- Organizational management of L23 Platform and Middleware; including growth in headcount, and growth of key leaders
- Structure
- Team growth
- Technical program management:
- Alignment of development and QA, enact discipline across Dev/QA boundaries to ensure excellence, quality, and efficiency
- Manage multiple simultaneous releases of multiple product lines
- Technical design oversight – recognizing risk areas, offering guidance, and mentor key technical leaders on strong engineering practices (both development and quality improvement)
- Functional and feature ownership – direct accountability for project/feature delivery
Requirements that must be demonstrated with excellence:
- 5+ years management experience
- 2+ years of senior management experience in software development
- Strong technical background in software development in Windows and Linux environments (C/C++/C#)
- Experience digging-in, understanding and guiding design/technical issues from a sr. management level
Desirable
- Some experience managing hardware/firmware
- Networking, and routing/switching protocols or demonstrate strong technical aptitude for learning and applying these skills
