The Solutions Architect will provide technical expertise and leadership to develop overall architecture for all layers of a solution which might span multiple operating systems, applications and networking environments, as well as platforms.
Key responsibilities:
- Work as a member of an integrated team in the definition and deployment of enterprise solutions for the company's customers.
- Act as an integral part of the delivery team providing high-level solution assessment throughout the entire life cycle (from pre-sales through delivery). Contribute by evaluating proposals from an architectural perspective, including feasibility, practicality, technical viability, and consistency, and translating the design into the Statement of Work process, leading the team to successful implementation.
- Leading technical design sessions and writing technical design documents.
- Ensure the creation of successful enterprise solutions which solve a customer's business problems from inception through execution.
- Apply technical expertise and business process know-how to the development of implementation methodology and best practices.
- Evaluate and monitor third-party development.
- Designing and managing the execution of test plans and ensuring a quality solution is delivered.
- Develop best practices, including implementation methodology and tools, to ensure repeatability, quality, and consistency across engagements worldwide.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field
Experience:
- 4+ years as a technical solutions architect in a consulting environment, including time supporting sales and managing technical staff and implementations.
- Experience working directly with customers on the technology side
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex business and application problems; performance analysis a big plus
Knowledge:
- Significant experience with IT architectural design and strategy in developing large scale enterprise business solutions.
- Experience in working with technology vendors and offshore development teams in the delivery of enterprise solutions.
- Experience with Microsoft server technologies such as BizTalk and SharePoint
- Enterprise database architecture, integration, design, implementation, and operations - MS SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2
- Experience with application servers such as IBM Websphere, SAP NetWeaver, Oracle AS, BEA Weblogic, Apache Tomcat or Jboss and integration technologies – SOA, SOAP, MVC, LDAP, JTAPI, TSAPI
- Knowledge of enterprise systems, CRM, ERP.
- Demonstrated experience developing enterprise applications using .NET Framework, Java, XML, HTML and SQL Server programming.
- Experience with Business Intelligence technologies such as Microsoft Analysis Service, Oracle BI Suite, Business Objects, Cognos.
- Good knowledge of quality management systems;
- Good command of English (spoken and written);
Skills:
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability with regard to business analysis principles, conceptualization, problem solving skills, and planning.
- Excellent human relations skills with demonstrated relationship interaction at all levels of an organization, including C level executive relationships. Must be able to communicate deeply technical information in an easy-to-consume format
- Able to understand and effectively communicate technical concepts relating to systems integration, web services, user interface design, business logic, file formats, transfer methods, encryption, etc.
