As a Software Test Engineer you will be responsible for code-based testing of an internal software product developed by Thales RSS France. This includes the technical development of internal software used for tests purposes as well as test deliverables such as tests classes and coverage metrics.
As a test professional you work closely together with the Software Development Team to understand product requirements and functionality, design appropriate test plans and test cases to verify features and functionalities and then to identify bugs through systematic testing.
In the scope of the project, Thales RSS France developed professional test methodologies with the goal of assuring the software being from maximum quality.
You will contribute to a strategic SW development project for safety-critical urban rail technologies in France. The produced documentation will be written in French language. The code will be commented in English. The communication with Thales France will be either in French or in English.
You will work with a International team with engineers based in France and engineers based in Romania. Your role within the team will be to:
- Development and integration of tools for test automation
- Participate in the software development process
- Build test infrastructure, including (but not limited to)
- Plan, design, code and execute tests
- Test, troubleshoot and criticize software components and interfaces in technical depth
- Provide efficient reports on team progress and own assignments
- Interact with developers and other team members
- Design and develop solutions for test management, execution and reporting
Education:
- Technical study of computer science, informatics or transportation
Programming languages/libraries:
- C or Python
- GTK is a plus;
- MATLAB language is a plus;
- Experiences in RDF/XML is a plus;
Preferred tools and methods:
- Eclipse, DIA, Office
- ClearCase and/or ClearQuest is a plus;
- GLADE is a plus.
