-Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications.
· Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems.
· Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
· Good understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and database design concepts
· Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
· Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
· Performs a variety of complicated tasks
· May lead and direct the work of others
· May report directly to a project lead or manager
· A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Core responsibilities:
· Able to develop reusable backend components in Java utilizing J2EE-based architecture to support product features for business users in multiple applications
· Able to develop reusable backend components in C/C++ based on a client-server architecture
· Have strong working knowledge w/cross-functional teams to define, implement, design & code review features in multiple product code.
· Must document, present, & review designs for all developed code
· Will create and reviewing test plans & help formulate automated tests.
· Will be working closely w/the marketing team to review end-user documentation for features on each release
· Will be supporting sales & professional services from a technical view
Qualifications:
• Min. BA/BS in CS
• Must have solid knowledge of dynamic web apps architectures & deployment techniques.
• Must be able to demonstrable knowledge using Tomcat and OC4J application server & the J2EE architecture / .NET C# and MS-SQL
• Have excellent hands-on exp. in Java/J2EE technologies which include JSP, servlets , (JMS) java message service, EJB, & RMI API.
• Solid exp. using both XML/SOAP
• Strong background in networking - especially TCP/IP Protocol stack and socket programming
• 3 yrs exp. designing & implementing enterprise software apps.
• 2 yrs exp. developing backend business logic for enterprise apps.
• 2 yrs exp. w/relational back-end database Oracle
• Exp. w/development on Windows & UNIX platforms is a MUST
• Exp. w/Office, MS Visio (or other modeling tool), Eclipse & Microsoft PowerPoint
• Familiarity with automated build, deploy and tracking tools such as Ant, CVS
• Basic knowledge of GPS and navigation technologies is a MUST
• Able to handle flexible working hours and rapidly changing priorities
