The Packet Telephony IP Multimedia Systems, part of Networking & Multimedia Group within Freescale Semiconductor Romania has the mission to provide integrated software solutions in the area of Voice and Data transmission over IP networks.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Design, develop, optimize and test VoIP applications using Linux and Freescale specific development suites for Freescale’s embedded platforms
- Involvement in the delivery process of our products to Freescale customers
- Provide remote or on-site support to Freescale customers in Europe or North America for our products (on a needed basis)
Required Skills:
- Very good command of C programming language and standard libraries
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux C development environment
- Linux basic usage and administration (common tools, system configuration)
- Good networking skills (UDP/IP stack at a minimum, socket programming model)
- Concurrent programming (concurrency primitives, IPC mechanisms, POSIX threads library)
- Basic Makefile scripting
Would-Be-A-Plus Skills:
- Experience with telecom software (signaling and control protocols/SIP,H.323,SS7,MEGACO; telephony platforms/Asterisk; softswitches/media gateways)
- Real-time development, experience with real-time operating systems
- Design of communication protocols
- Good command of C++ programming language
- Experience with OOP, basic software design principles, UML
- Experience with embedded development tools and hardware platforms
- In-depth Linux knowledge (device drivers, kernel programming, advanced configuration)
- Experience with standard software processes (ISO, CMM, CMMi)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (python, perl, bash)
