The Software Engineer is a member of a team responsible for creating testing tools for Freescale cellular platforms. The testing tools developed by the team are used for software unit testing. The team in Romania works closely with the other global teams that develop various pieces of code to be tested by the tools. The team is skilled in programming (C and C++) and has knowledge of the standards involved (GSM, UMTS, etc).
- BS EE or CS with 2 years experience in C/ C++ development; MS preferred.
- Strong C skills are required as well as strong C++ skills including object-oriented design/programming.
- Ability to debug complex, multi-threaded programs is required
- LINUX, UNIX programming experience is highly desired (using makefiles, etc).
- UML knowledge is a plus; ability to understand basic UML class diagrams is highly desired.
- Skilled with source management tools is desired. Understanding Configuration Management policies is desired.
- Able to work with third party or inherited code. Refactoring experience is desired.
- Testing techniques nice to have.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills are required, any other language is a plus.
