Romania SoC Validation Team, part of NMG, is focused on developing tools used for the validation of the Freescale microprocessors and actively supporting the validation process. Our engineers are exposed to the new processors from the pre-silicon phase of development, long time before the first silicon sample is available. Then they are the first responsible to make the new integrated circuits work and the boards based on them.

Your role was built to reinforce the SoC Validation Team by delivering high quality solutions in activities related with Bring-up, Debug, and validation of System On a Chip products based on Power Architecture and StarCore Architecture
Your performance will be measured by the following key performance indicators:
- To develop and to deliver on time debugging solutions according with internal software development process and validation process
- To build solutions that will reflect a very good test coverage of the silicon modules

To be successful in your role you will have to perform the following activities:
- Develop and utilize system-level software and performance applications to quickly bring-up, debug, and validate correct hardware design.
- Participate in system level and customer debug investigations drive to root-cause understanding.
- Develop silicon test-bench infrastructure and tools.
- Develop SoC & processor functional validation tool suite.
- Implement bring-up lab infrastructure
- Support design logic and performance issue debug investigations to root-cause/resolution.
To ensure your successful performance in this role your working past experience should reflect :
- Programming experience (C/C++, assembler, Python/Pearl/TCL, shell scripting)
- Experience debugging hardware and low level software (device drivers, real-time OS etc.)
- Working with microprocessor, circuit, or system-level debug.
Your technical knowledge and skills should demonstrate:
- BS or MS in Electronics or Computer Science; Computer Engineering
- Linux and Embedded Linux experience
- Debugging Linux and/or hardware device drivers.
- Microprocessor (microcontroller, DSP) architecture verification, validation, and debug experience
- It will be considered a plus to have knowledge of Star Core or PowerPC Architecture and assembly
- Experience with logic-analyzers and scopes for hardware debug
- Familiarity with Cycle-based simulation, pseudo-random simulation, communications protocols
- Analog and/or digital design experience a plus
- Communication, documentation and presentation skills
- Good command of English (speaking & writing)
