Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
Software simulators for silicon designs are critical in early stages of chip development, allowing validation of hardware platforms in the lab, as well as development of CodeWarrior™ tools well before hardware platforms are available.
The engineer will participate in development of software simulators for Freescale architectures – e.g. StarCore, Power Architecture, etc. The job involves software development, testing and maintenance of the various modules, as well as participation in designing next generation simulator technologies.
The engineer will work in an international team, having remote project leadership.
- University degree, preferable in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electronics
- 2-3 years hands-on experience with C/C++
- Cross-platform (Windows/Unix) development experience
- Knowledge of different executable and symbolics format – such as PE, ELF, Dwarf, COFF
- Knowledge in computer architecture
- Good understanding of HW modules
- Knowledge of a scripting programming language - such as TCL, Perl
- Team spirit, able to cooperate and work under pressure
- Good English command
Some of the following skills would bring an advantage:
- Knowledge of Embedded Systems
- Experience with Java, CORBA
- Background in developing debugging tools (e.g. gdb)
- Understanding of how a compiler/debugger/build system works
- Previous experience in development of automated test software
- Knowledge of software quality, software development process, version control systems (such as CVS)
