Department Description: To provide software solutions for PowerQuicc platforms in order to support networking protocols.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
As a Software Engineer for Network Communication the candidate will be in charge of:
- developing bare board/OS network device drivers on Freescale processors
- supporting customer applications
- compliance with quality process established in Freescale Semiconductor
Basic Requirements:
-University degree, preferable in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Automation, Electronics
- C/C++ languages
- Experience in developing embedded software on multiple processors – min 1year
- Networking fundamentals and protocols
- Software configuration management and software process
- Spoken and written English-medium
Would be a plus some of the following:
- Experience with CodeWarrior for PowerPC or PowerQUICC processors
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, ATM, SONET, RTP/RTCP, VoIP)
- Knowledge of operating systems fundamentals (preferable UNIX OS), device drivers, multiprocessor/ multithreaded applications
- Knowledge of RT applications & RTOS for embedded systems,
- Knowledge of other programming languages/scripting languages (e.g. Perl, TCL/TK)
- Networking certification
- Knowledge of state of the art methods and approaches in application development and testing.
