The Network Communication Software Applications Team, part of Networking & Multimedia Group within Freescale Semiconductor Romania, has the mission to provide high quality embedded networking solutions for last generation PowerQuicc communication processors. Software solutions include microcode, drivers, demo applications and benchmarking on bare board and Linux OS with strong requirement for cross-platform coding.
The Packet Telephony Software Applications Team, part of Networking & Multimedia Group within Freescale Semiconductor Romania, has the mission to provide DSP Based Software Solutions in the areas of Voice & Tone Processing, Video processing and data transmission. Software solutions include complete voice and video media gateway solutions based drivers, real-time operating systems, protocol stacks, and software components processing voice, tones, modems and fax.
Member of NMG Romania Quality Team that reports to Quality Manager of NMG Romania. Networks with other Configuration Managers in FSR and Freescale. Strong interaction with Engineering Compute Group for IT-related aspects.
Job purpose:
- Develop and mantain the Configuration Management (CM) system
- Execute specific configuration management activities
Job resposabilities:
- Develop and maintain the Configuration Management (CM) system (policies, standards, procedures and tools), in accordance with the standard software development process and corporate requirements
- Provide training for development teams on CM system
- Manage repositories, in terms of security, sharing, synchronization, archiving/restoring, baselining, recovery
- Verify CM activities performed by development teams in order to ensure compliance with defined policies and rules
- Review and audit baselines content, in order to mantain integrity of baselines
- Collaborate with site internal and external stakeholders to align to global CM strategy
- Identify opportunities for CM improvement, plan, coordinate and execute CM improvement plans
- Participate in defining CM requirements for 3rd parties or suppliers; audit 3rd party or supplier CM process
Specific knowledge/skills:
- B.Sc. University degree, preferable in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Automation, Electronics
- Experience in Configuration Management (procedures, standards, versioning systems); experience with configuration management systems (e.g. CVS, ClearCase)
- Scripting experience to provide process automation (Perl, batch files, VB Script, other)
- Ability to communicate effectively with development teams and general engineering staff
- Ability to build positive working relationships across the organization which spans the globe (fluent English)
- Quality-oriented person, with attention to details and passion for finalization
- Proactiveness and self-motivation, good initiative
Experience in some of the following would be a plus:
- Experience in software build and release procedures
- Knowledge of SEI CMMI or ISO 9000 standards family
