The objective of the Database Tools group is to make developing with an Oracle database as easy as possible across multiple development frameworks.
This group has delivered SQL Developer, Application Express, Developer tools for .NET as well as other products which include SQL*Plus and the Migration workbench. Oracle SQL Developer is a graphical tool that enhances productivity and simplifies database development tasks. With SQL Developer, you can browse database objects, run SQL statements and SQL scripts, and edit and debug PL/SQL statements. You can also run any number of provided reports, as well as create and save your own.
We're looking for a hands-on Development Manager who can drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast paced environment. In this position, you will have responsibility for building and managing our Romania based development team. You will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of projects. You will be expected to push the envelope in terms delivering innovative technical solutions primarily involving Oracle technologies including core Java, Swing, and XML.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hiring, building and retaining a solid team of developers
Participate in the Database Tools Management Team;
Consult with stakeholders to review project requirements, determine technical approach for accomplishing projects, skill and staffing requirements and allocation of resources;
Provide regular status, project tracking updates and overall assessments to Management Team;
Manage engineers to deliver project in accordance with scope & plan, including identifying issues and working them through closure;
Provide technical hands on leadership to the team;
To be a champion for SQL Developer solutions within Oracle;
Willing and able to drive cross-team and global projects and initiatives;
Conduct formal employee evaluations and performance reviews;
Contribute to the career development of each employee.
4+ years Management / Team Lead experience;
Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree;
A successful track-record delivering a project in a global environment with a preferred background in core development;
Hands-on problem solving skills, and outstanding oral and written communication skills;
Capability to learn new processes and technologies quickly;
Critical thinking and decision making skills;
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
Highly organised and detail oriented;
Strong interpersonal skills;
The ability to influence at all levels with well developed persuasive arguments;
An ability to work under pressure and meet deadline requirements complimenting a proactive and flexible approach with a resilient and results - orientated nature;
Possessing exceptional interpersonal and communication;
Self driven and self motivated;
Results orientated, an ability to manage multiple priorities is also expected;
Strong consumer focus.
