* Directs the activities of software development and software quality assurance functions
* Leads team, plan and manage its workload by assigning work, monitoring and resolving problems, anticipating and overcoming potential conflicts and roadblocks
* Conceive, review and contribute to architectural decisions and feature specifications, both from a functional and technical standpoint
* Works independently and own multiple features of the product
* Provides direction and direct supervision to employees
* Interacts with functional peer groups and/or other teams
* Creates development plans and schedules, provides team and feature status reports to management
* Understands the tradeoffs between schedules and quality and is able be to make appropriate trade-offs
* Is responsible for both development and quality assurance of his team’s work
* Mentors team members by providing knowledge and expertise
* Stays in touch with the latest technologies and trends, suggests new directions and solutions
* B.S. or M.S. degree (degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent is a bonus).
* 5+ years equivalent industry experience.
* Proven people management skills in leading teams of 3 or more and projects of 6 man/months or more
* Strong leadership skills with ability to lead a team of 5-10 people (both developers and quality engineers)
* Strong technical background with web-related technologies (HTML, Javascript, Ajax, CSS)
* Background with Java technology stack (Spring, Hibernate, Spring MVC, JSP, Jackrabbit) is a plus
* Strong foundation in development and quality assurance process, best practices and design patterns. Knowledge in agile development practices (ex: SCRUM) is a plus.
* Ability to understand complex requirements technical information
* Able to work independently to identify issues, define architecture, develop & track schedule, assign & track tasks
* Excellent communication skills, able to be credible and convincing in a phone conversation in English, able to deliver short but high-impact presentations and pitches
