RESPONSABILITATI

One of the world's leading financial service providers is opening a new centre in Bucharest and is looking for talented and ambitious professionals to build up the team.
As a SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER your key responsibilities will include:

* Managing the software development team for the company's application services;
* Overseeing the platform, day to day requests, long term projects, and strategy;
* Working closely with project/program management as well as managers of related applications;
* Improving the performance of the team in regards to SDLC, QA, and deployment practices;
* Acting as an expert on the platform in various capacities, strategy meetings, and product development opportunities;
* Managing a group of development teams on projects of small to moderate size and complexity;
* Recommending most efficient way to produce new products, evaluating and reporting on the progress and results of development efforts;
* Being responsible for performance appraisals;
* Ensuring projects are completed on time and according to corporate quality standards;
* Facilitating communication upward and across project team including development status, justifications for variances and technical architecture, design and implementation;
* Serving as focal point for other departments on development status;
* Ensuring projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented;
* Ensuring continuous documentation and design review to accomodate future development and maintenance;
* Ensuring availability of all necessary application/service knowledge and documentation
* Ensuring system stability through enhancement/maintenance periods;
* Ensuring in CTB projects that the changes to the software are fully aligned / support the development strategy across the full SDLC with support;
* Ensuring a smooth/successful transition to the production (steady-state) environment;
* Managing L3 application support as required;
* Ensuring the delivery of Software Product Operating Instructions;

People Management

* Leading development of source code, including descriptions, for all Software Components in accordance with Detailed Software Requirements specification, the functional design and the technical design document;
* Ensuring team complies to all code changes a the group defined standards;
* Communicating and cascading the COO strategy, plans and values in order to enable effective decision making and creates a high performing collaborative culture across COO;
* Driving the achievement of high performance overseeing effective career management, providing equitable opportunities, driving succession planning and talent management processes to ensure continuous development of people capability and delivery of results;
* Acting as a leadership role model, communicating SMART business driven objectives at the beginning of the year, ensuring every team member has regular, continuous and constructive performance reviews, encouraging career development, nurturing talent and fostering diversity;
* Managing tough people decisions to ensure people performance is aligned with organisation imperatives and needs.


CERINTE

If you have:

* Significant prior experience with development technologies, specifically Agile/SCRUM; keeps pace with technical innovation;
* Experience managing software developers, preferably in medium/large companies;
* Exceptional management and people skills, ability to manage personnel activities of staff (hires, mentors, coach, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, and disciplines, and recommends termination as necessary, 1-on-1's, Performance Reviews, of direct reports);
* Passion for quality and continuous improvement of processes and software, well versed with software engineering practices (Continuous Engineering, Build/Deploy, Unit Testing, Regression Testing, Test & Staging Environments);
* Excellent communication and influencing skills;
* Ability to work in fast paced environment;
* Passion about sharing knowledge and best practices;
* Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrixed organizations;
* Proven people management skills;
* Fluent English (written/verbal);
* Technical/Functional background in Oracle, Java, Business Intelligence, Reporting and Data Warehousing is desirable
