The incumbent is an experienced OTS engineer with proven capability to function independently in responsible project roles. They will take responsibility, alongside the PM, for all aspects of successful OTS delivery including Client contact, modeling, re-source management, scheduling and integration
The applicant will be responsible for:
• Assuming complete technical responsibility for an assigned project.
• Driving the technical interaction with the customer and providing technical solutions that meet the project require-ments.
• Leading the project team in negotiating technical scope changes with the customer.
• Defining, with the help of the Lead Consultant, the design specifications, project standards and acceptance criteria for the project.
• Defining work packages for implementation, according to processes and standards, in Global Engineering Services Centers (GES).
• Providing modeling support to the implementation team and verifying that the deliverables from GES and other locations satisfy the project acceptance criteria.
• Developing and maintaining a detailed schedule for sub-model development, model integration and controls integra-tion.
• Weekly monitoring of project progress with the implementa-tion team (UK and GES) and reporting same to the PM and Lead Consultant.
• Highlighting the modeling & integration risks & opportunities to the Lead Consultant and jointly preparing a response plan.
• Producing Project documentation including Functional De-sign Specifications, Acceptance Test Procedures, As-built and project close out presentations.
• Handing over the project to the support team
• Coordinating with other Engineers in the Technology Group to share lessons learnt, new techniques and solutions.
Position requires approximately 20% international travel around the EMEA region and to the Global Engineering groups in India and China.
The applicant must have:
• Good first degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 4 completed OTS projects with site experience.
• Refinery and/or petrochemical process engineering experi-ence. Mastery of several processes.
• Expert user of dynamic process simulation tools including UNISIM Design or equivalent.
• Excellent knowledge of major DCS systems
• Proficiency with the integration of DCS/ESD/Sequences into an OTS
• Good written and oral communication skills (in English).
• Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills..
• Client facing Project leadership and management experi-ence, supervising a team of engineers.
• Some site experience such as installation and/or commis-sioning.
It would be helpful to have:
• MSc or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering (specialized in process control or unit operations).
• Proficiency with HYSYS and or UNISIM.
• Experience in other technologies such as APC.
