For one of our clients, a multinational professional firm that provides assurance (including financial audit), tax, consulting and advisory services, we are looking for a Senior Tax Consultant. Our client it is known to engage with like-minded organizations and individuals in order to deliver quality and excellence in everything they do.
Responsabilities:
Staying up to date with the general business and economic developments;
Proving an understanding of the client’s business and industry by recognizing business trends and emerging tax practices and policies relevant to clients;
Working with the client and engagement team to understand the client’s business and tax needs;
Collaborating with the tax team to develop marketing/sales strategies and implementing them;
Developing and customizing relevant/practical methodologies in the tax area for the Romanian market;
Utilizing and encouraging the application of firm wide methodologies and tools including computer based software solutions;
Preparing memoranda, working papers, and other documents in conjunction with serving the client (e.g., proposals, engagement letters, presentations, final reports);
Providing guidance to assist staff in reaching their full potential (e.g., willingly addresses questions, contributes constructive on-the-job feedback and training, conducts meaningful and timely performance reviews);
Offering support to the assist staff in designing and implementing individual development plans;
Developing and coaching colleagues;
Assuring proper approval and sign-off of the contracts within the firm by the Partner/Manager and with the client before beginning any engagement;
Proving functional expertise in the areas of inbound and outbound corporate taxation, individual taxation, Romanian accounting standards and rules.
Bachelors/Masters Degree in Economics (e.g. Accounting/Finance);
Excellent knowledge of English language;
Minimum three years experience of working as a consultant or as a tax professional in the industry;
Very good understanding of Romanian accounting standards and rules;
Experience working with inbound taxation: profits tax, VAT, payroll taxes;
Experience working with outbound taxation: withholding taxes, application of tax treaties, tax credits;
Experience working with individual taxation: tax residency rules, taxation of dependent/independent activities;
