The objective of the Database Tools group is to make developing with an Oracle database as easy as possible across multiple development frameworks. This group has delivered SQL Developer, Application Express, Developer tools for .NET as well as other products which include SQL*Plus and the Migration workbench. These tools are the most used tools in Oracle, second only to the database itself. Oracle SQL Developer is a graphical tool that enhances productivity and simplifies database development tasks. With SQL Developer, you can browse database objects, run SQL statements and SQL scripts, and edit and debug PL/SQL statements. You can also run any number of provided reports, as well as create and save your own.We are looking for Senior Software Engineers to be part of our continuously growing team of highly skilled professionals. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be expected to push the envelope in terms of delivering innovative technical solutions. This includes the ability to design and implement complex enterprise systems involving Oracle technologies primarily involving Core Java, Swing and XML.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluating requirements and technical limitations with users; Liaising with technical architects & other development teams to ensure technical consistency;
Developing prototype functionality to demonstrate design options. Implement add-on functionality to existing applications to satisfy client needs;
Reviewing the prototype with users to ensure it meets business and usability requirements;
Develop thought leadership, advice and guidance on the approach to the design of applications;
To develop and maintain direct relationships with the appropriate external and internal stakeholders;
Manage users feedback through forums and blogs.
Manage internal development boxes and build systems
xperience in developing complex software systems, including exposure to web technologies and ancillary build tools;
Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree with 8+ years of experience;
Experience of working with Oracle development tools & technologies an advantage;
Knowledge of full project lifecycle - from initial consultation to delivery;
Experience of working with large development teams;
International experience is an advantage Fluency in English
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Possessing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate workshops;
Very strong technical skills, specifically in Java/Swing, Oracle (SQL and PLSQL), XML and IDE development
Results orientated, an ability to manage multiple priorities is also expected; Self driven and self motivated;
The ability to influence at all levels with well developed persuasive arguments;
An ability to work under pressure and meet deadline requirements complimenting a proactive and flexible approach with a resilient and results - orientated nature.
