We are looking for a Senior PHP developer in charge of support (incl. evolutive maintenance) of business-critical applications. The Support engineer is responsible for multiple clients and multiple projects, so time management and strong multi-tasking skills are key.
During the typical project, travel will be limited, although some flexibility will be required, in case on-site presence is required.
Excellent communication skills are required in English. The candidate should also have strong analytical skills, good organization skills and attention to details.
General Technical skills:
- Solid LAMP knowledge;
- 2-3 years working with any Linux distribution;
- Apache and LightHttpd setup and optimization, Load-balance setup;
- SVN, code management expert, branching, tagging, merging;
- Drupal experience;
- Overall good understanding of OpenSource communities;
- SEO experience and practices;
- Nice to have knowledge about Nutch, Openfire, opensearch and mailservers;
- Symfony framework experience is a plus;
- Knowledge about Amazon cloud and RightScale is a plus.
Programming skills:
- PHP5 & Mysql experience at least 3 years;
- Other RDBMs like Sqlite, postgresql is a plus;
- Bash scripting - write good backup scripts, mirror websites;
- WebServices;
- Programming patterns;
- Awareness on existing APIs of different projects.
Soft skills:
- Ability to self-manage a customer-facing website and interact directly with a VP level business stakeholder for requirements, scoping, scheduling;
- Will openly share issues faced in a release;
- Ability to openly present her/his own ideas;
- Independent and highly self-motivated with a strong customer focus;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Fluent English is a must;
- Willing and able to be part of cross-team and global projects and initiatives;
- Results orientated, an ability to manage multiple priorities is also expected;
- An ability to work under pressure and meet deadline requirements complimenting a proactive and flexible approach with a resilient and results - orientated nature.
