RESPONSABILITATI

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
1. Provide network support for all Oracle sites in Romania. Duties will involve supporting the LAN, WAN and working with the Voice Operations team on issues relating to VOIP infrastructure.
2. Provide project engineering for Romania as well as for other sites within the EMEA Region where necessary. Duties to include: Planning, testing and implementation of network designs in accordance with Oracle network standards.
3. Liaison with local lines of business to understand their IT requirements and needs and work to deliver these where appropriate.
4. Management of the relationship with local suppliers (ie Hardware vendors, Telecommunication companies etc)
5. Work closely with the EMEA Network Operations team to proactively monitor the Romanian network and act as escalation point for any issues.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Provide all levels of support for the Cisco based LAN and WAN infrastructure in Romania to meet Oracle’s business objectives, with regard to both hardware and software fault diagnosis.
- Liaison with Oracle client and third party hardware maintenance companies.
- Take ownership of calls assigned via Global Help desk and follow through to completion.
- Work with EMEA Network Operations team to diagnose and resolve network related issues
- Provide 3rd level support escalation for advanced technical issues, high profile concerns and business critical deadlines.
- Provide project-engineering support for initiatives within Romania and elsewhere within the Region (please note this may involve foreign travel).
- Sharing of information and support to Network Operations EMEA wide.
- Liaison with other Global IT Groups (GDS, NP&E, DNS, IT Security, Voice Ops etc)
2. Daily proactive monitoring of the Romanian network to capture any problems as they occur.
- Escalation of any issues to Snr management where necessary.
- Liaison with other Global IT groups to resolve issues.
3. Actively contribute to EMEA Network Operations.
- May act as a mentor for new starters.
- Keep line manager informed of escalations and any problem areas.
- Disseminating information and expertise to other members of the team.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting as required.
- Training of local LOBs in new IT initiatives and services.

4. Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills - be able to effectively communicate with people on both a technical and non-technical level where appropriate in both English and Romanian.
- The ability to think laterally.
- Good technical understanding of Networking – LANS and WANs
- Good technical understanding of Cisco Networking preferably to CCNP level or above.
- Good working knowledge of:
-Internet Protocol (IP)
-OSPF
-VPNs-IPSEC and SSL
- Firewalls
- Voice over IP – SRST, SIP
- Switching protocols – spanning tree.
- Self-motivated and the ability to keep abreast of recent developments in IT, especially with regard to how these can improve the service offered to our clients.
- An understanding of project management would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and familiarity of Oracle products would be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a pressured production environment while not compromising on the quality of the service provided to our clients.
5. Business Awareness
- Keep abreast of Oracle business direction.
- Be aware of Oracle’s competition.
- Be acquainted with senior management initiative, i.e. Web casts.
