Our client is a leading company in financial services. Due to their development in Romania they have to increase their team with the Senior Accountant position:
- Responsible for the review of reports and statistics and other financial results;
- Formulates and administers approved accounting practices and ensure all tax calculations comply with local regulations;
- Ensures timely notification of clients on outstanding issues and potential compliance risks;
- Ensures that the client is informed about any potential tax consequences in due time;
- Assists clients in making relevant business decisions;
- Relationship with authorities on any tax issues, such as tax audits, VAT reimbursements, etc.
- Reviews correspondence on non-standard issues, such as correspondence on unusual tax issues;
- Responsible for reviewing and controlling several financial functions for allocated companies;
- Provides on the job training, assistance, reviews and appraises accountants and junior accountants;
- Acts as overall co-ordinator on all finance matters for allocated companies;
- Works independently in all financial matters related to allocated clients, co-operates with others according to the needs of the accounting department;
- Ensures that the reporting deadlines are met;
- Ensures the proper management of cash and bank accounts;
- Ensures the proper management of payables and receivables;
- Ensures that all deadlines and budgets are met;
- Is proactive and uses initiative to clarify issues, identify savings and efficiency for clients;
- Allocates the staff resources under supervision in an efficient and effective manner;
- Prepares accounts in accordance with Romanian Accounting Standards, IAS, US or UK GAAP;
- Keeps up to date with changes in local accounting and tax legislation and informs superiors on the changes;
- Identifies particular risks related to the client transactions.
