POSITION SUMMARY:
The security operations engineer is a key member of the SRM team which provides IT security governance and support for EA s business worldwide. Provide hands on security services management and operations for information security tool kit. Responsibilities include identifying and understanding the security challenges, architectural risks, prioritizing remediation and then building solutions and mitigations to help resolve those risks. These responsibilities extend to providing input on application integration design, secure coding practices, log forensics, log design and application code security. This is a hand on technical position which will be responsible for technical implementation of security controls, maintenance of internal security controls as defined by the information security policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
-Conducting vulnerability and penetration testing
-Monitoring intrusion detection and prevention systems
-Conducting forensic analysis of security incidents
-Performing security audits of current infrastructure and applications
-Monitoring security bulletins, determining applicability and coordinating action plans
-Managing anti-virus systems
-Installing security agents on new systems
-Review access control lists and updating firewalls as needed
-Provide in depth review and remediation protecting against web and web services security vulnerabilities including cross-site scripting, sql injection, DoS attacks, XML/SOAP and API attacks, email security flaws and more.
-Adhering to high-quality standards and best practices, high performance, and scalable, repeatable processes and deliverables in accordance with government regulations.
-Analyze, troubleshoot, and investigate security-related, information systems anomalies based on security platform reporting, network traffic, log files, host-based and automated security alerts.
-Evaluate systems using vulnerability scanners and manual techniques to verify system security settings and configurations.
-Demonstrated ability to meet stringent project deadlines
-Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in hands-on technical security control architecture & design, information security solution engineering, security technology implementation, and security service delivery role.
-A strong knowledge of security issues surrounding UNIX, Windows, TCP/IP, email, and DNS is essential.
-Experienced in the configuration and operation of network and/or host-based security solutions such as firewalls, IDS, HIPS, vulnerability scanners, mail and web proxy and filtering technologies, anti-virus, anti-spyware, and system integrity verification software.
-Experience in managing Mcafee EPO, Qualys, Websense, etc
-Experienced in troubleshooting, auditing, and performing forensic analysis on TCP/IP based networks through utilization of log analysis, protocol analyzers, and network-sniffing technologies.
-Knowledge and/or experience with encryption technologies such as PGP,Safeboot.
-Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related major is preferred.
-Security certifications (Security+, CISA, CISSP) are also preferred.
-Must be able to create documents, spreadsheets, detailed drawings using the MS Office Suite and Visio.
-Provide off-hours support on an infrequent, but as needed basis.
-Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills are strongly desired.
-Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills a must.
