For our client, a world-leading provider of telecommunications equipment and services, we are looking for a Second level Core CS Service Engineer.
The engineer is required to maintain and improve the customer’s network and provide technical support, fault investigation, and also to trouble shoot. He will also be responsible for the Operation, Maintenance and Performance of the network element(s) assigned and also able to work on a 24x7 stand-by.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage networks and nodes within the Core CS domain.
- 2G, 3G, LTE network switching operation and troubleshooting on: MSC, MSC-S, HLR, HSS, MGW, STP, MSS, IMS, IMT, SBG, DSC.
- Preventive Maintenance activities.
- Fault handling and corrective actions.
- Equipment and service performance parameters handling.
- Participate in project activities, implementing / adapting of new E2E service functionalities.
- On regular base covering the 7x24 Call-out responsibility.
- Provide input, implement and verify improvements in processes and work instructions.
- Verify and implement configuration changes.
- Transfer knowledge in a structured way to NOC colleagues.
Required skills:
- Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting techniques of MSC, MSC-S, HLR, HSS, MGW, STP, MSS, IMS, IMT.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work under strong pressure related to scale of business impact
- Experience/Knowledge in some of the following:
o 2nd Level Activities or Planning and Design or Build Activities.
o MSCS, MSC, MGW, HLR, STP, IMS,SBG, DSC, IMT preferably Ericsson AXE/Cello platform or similar knowledge on Nokia, Huawei or Alcatel Core CS related equipment.
o Debugging knowledge, project implementation and network configuration.
o SS7 troubleshooting.
o SS7 protocol stack.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Flexible and responsive to changing work patters and demands.
- Able to work as a member of a team and lead junior staff.
- Open approach to solving problems.
- Methodical approach to work.
- Must be able to work to tight timelines.
- Analytical and investigative abilities.
- Bachelor/Master of science in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Information or equivalent.
