RESPONSABILITATI

main mission:
Within design or evolution of the services platforms projects, the Release Manager has as main mission to assure globally the cross-functional piloting of the move to production (prepare site and platform, transfer of skills, prepare the operation and coordinate the various distributed contributors) within the build team.

main stakes:
Release manager is a technical project manager, involved in the move to production process.
For that he/she is in charge of coordinating the actors from build division and is the partner of the operations division

Daily activities:
Make the evaluations of piloting loads for a new contribution to come
Pilot the contribution of move to production
• Initialize the project (plan, identify needs, reserve the resources, organize a launch meeting...)
• Represent for the project leader and qualification teams the operation project leader and vice versa
• Follow the progress and guarantee deadlines and costs
• Manage the risks (estimate, act and activate escalation if necessary)
• Coordinate the various actors (project leader, qualification, support, operation, hosting)
• Make to the project leader a regular progress report (landmarks, progress, risks)
• Make the assessment of the move to production contribution (negative or positive points, compare planned / realized loads)
• Collect project leader and run appreciations within satisfaction surveys

Pilot the preparation of the service platform
• Hardware and software supplies
• Preparation of sites infrastructures (electricity, network, cabling...)
• Installation of the equipment and the cabling
• Coordinate the network flows opening (work order delivered to flows tested)
• Draft the platform acceptance report

Prepare the move to production
• Contribute to the definition of the strategy of qualification
• Elaborate the acceptance test file for move to production (exploitability acceptance tests + smooth running platform)
• Elaborate the scenario for move to production and the mobilization plan
• Ensure that operations tools baseline (supervision, backup,..) is provided
• Deliver the platform to the run team

Coordinate the move to production
• Technical release validation
• Ensure that operations tools are tested
• Coordinate the requirements for the installation
• Identify the risks for the move in real production in the scenario
• Coordinate the acceptance tests of move to production (operations acceptance tests + smooth running + countries test)

Organize the transfer of skills
• Determine for each profile the skills to acquire and the adapted means (Training course / information )
• Build, if needed, adapted information / training course kits

candidate’s profile

target educational background :
At least a Bachelor degree, preferably in the Telecommunication / Computer Science area.

prior experience

At least 3 years of relevant working experience in managing complex technical systems/projects in a similar environment.

technical skills:
- Knowledge of Information Systems architectures
- Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX operating systems, and basic software packages (Oracle)
- Knowledge of network architectures (Firewall, Switch, IP technology)
- Knowledge of operation procedures and tools (backups, supervision, CFT..),
- Knowledge of IT operation activities and ITIL processes
- Good knowledge: DBMS (database management system) and technical operations linked to DB such as data migrations
- Good knowledge of middlewares: Jonas, Websphere, Tomcat;
- Good knowledge of Network and Security: IP, TCPIP, Switch, Firewall, router, load-balancing, VPN, VLAN, antivirus, authentication, LDAP, HTML protocol, JS, http, https..
- Optional knowledge of technologies linked to service platforms (WAP, xMS Hub, OTAP, OWL..);
- Optional knowledge of Quality Center and Quick Test Pro testing tools
- General knowledge of the services platforms architectures
- General knowledge of NGN and IP networks
