Position summary

You will be part of an engineering team focused on building and supporting high availability hosted software services. As a Software ConfigurationRelease Engineer you'll use your technical and coding abilities and your understanding of complex systems to design, develop and automate how the team builds, validates and deploys the system's software components. You’ll be responsible to support development by providing consistent, stable environments for programming, testing, and internal deployment of projects. You will participate in the planning, development and deployment phases of the project providing support through automation, metrics analysis, and deployment tasks. You'll work with the engineering and operation teams to make sure Business Catalyst is delivered with a repeatable and auditable process.

Areas of Responsibility:

* Manage the source control system and release branches;
* Maintain and improve the integration between source control, build and bug tracking tools;
* Support, integrate and improve the tools for continuous integration and automated testing;
* Respond to and resolve emergency build issues;
* Support and improve the automated deployment tools;
* Manage and support the configuration and deployment on the testing and staging environments;
* Support and automate the configuration of development environments;
* Support the Operations team into pushing releases to production servers;
* Maintain and extend the build and release process to support a fast moving development organization;
* Implement and enforce build and release standards and conventions.


CERINTE

* University degree (BS/MS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* 3+ years experience in build/release engineering on Windows;
* Knowledge of software engineering practices: continuous integration, configuration management, build optimization, build automation, and deployment;
* Experience with release and deployment of large scale, geographically distributed, service oriented applications;
* Excellent understanding of web and networking concepts;
* Experience with deploying and administering open-source or commercial, build and release tools;
* Familiar with the Microsoft .NET technology stack and Windows system’s management
* Familiar with at least one RDBMS;
* Proficient in at least one scripting language;
* Development experience with at least one OO Programming Language;
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
Nice to have :
* Java and C# programming experience are major plusses;
* Experience with at least another platform (Linux/Mac);
* Experience with build add-ons like NCover, Fitnesse or similar;
* Experience with Powershell;
* Preferred experience with CruiseControl.NET and ControlTier;
* Knowledge of Active Directory, IIS and DNS;
* Experience with MSSql Server;
* Subversion configuration and administration experience;
* Experience in maintaining and configuring virtual environments (VMware);
