Under the administrative authority of UNDP, overall supervision of the Head of UNDP Socio-Economic Section, and the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Regional Consultant is expected to:
¿¿¿Providing economical expertise on various project-related issues;
¿¿¿Collecting information on the implementation areas, characteristics and needs of the project;
¿¿¿Drafting research studies and surveys on a regular basis;
¿¿¿Monitoring on a regular basis and using performance indicators to measure the progress of the project in the assigned region of Romania, and reporting to the Project Manager every occurring development.
¿¿¿Assessing the trends in business incubation in the region and identifying promising business incubation models, methodologies and success stories for further exploration;
¿¿¿Providing technical assistance to the business incubators aiming to increase the sustainability and effectiveness of the business incubators;
¿¿¿Liaising with business incubators existing in the region aiming to create and organize a regional network of business incubators;
¿¿¿Organizing awareness workshops and participating in conducting feasibility assessment for the establishment of new business incubators in region;
¿¿¿Liaise with UNDP Country Office, Donors, Participating UN Organizations and other strategic partners, as necessary, to facilitate work;
¿¿¿Providing advisory support services to project team.
¿¿¿Other administrative project-related tasks, assigned by the Project Manager.
¿¿¿Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
¿¿¿University degree in Finance, Business or Technical related discipline;
¿¿¿Substantial practical experience with local authorities in the South-East part of the country, business incubation, SME development, business support services and related issues of private sector development/entrepreneurship development, with at least 3 years of working experience on these issues; a combination of experiences in these fields is a plus;
¿¿¿Good track record in capacity building;
¿¿¿Previous work experience in European funds, patrimonial administration, public acquisitions, facilitating workshops and training sessions;
¿¿¿Ability to establish priorities, and plan, coordinate and monitor one¿¿¿s work within a team setting, work with tight deadlines and handle multiple concurrent activities;
¿¿¿Thoroughly knowledge of the socio ¿¿¿ economic environment of the above mentioned Romania¿¿¿s region;
¿¿¿Proven international work experience, is a plus;
¿¿¿Demonstrated ability to take initiative;
¿¿¿Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
¿¿¿Proven conceptual, analytical and evaluative skills;
¿¿¿Excellent communication and networking skills;
¿¿¿Fluency in Romanian and English is required.
