Primary purpose is the independent management of all Direct tax areas for all legal entities in the region of responsibility. The main focus is on one hand on the management and guidance of the country Tax Managers, and on the other hand on the tax related matters, including tax planning, tax project management, support tax audits and supervise US & Local tax reporting.

Primary Duties:
1. To partner directly with the Regional Tax Director and Senior Tax Manager and local business group management and local Tax Managers on matters related to the direct tax activities / projects in the countries of responsibility within the EMEA region.
2. Conducting / managing / coordinating the direct income tax aspects and due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions.
3. Assisting / leading the direct tax support for all Business expansion in the countries of responsibility within the EMEA region.
4. Defining and implementing strategic goals for the region / countries in conjunction with the Tax Team EMEA and the Corporate Tax Team in Milwaukee.
5. Managing / coordinating the proper handling of Direct Tax issues related to tax planning projects implemented in the region. Work with the Country Tax Managers, as necessary, to implement multi-country tax planning initiatives. Full project management is expected.
6. Assisting / managing and approving (where necessary) the negotiations of the direct tax audits in the region.
7. Cooperating and interacting with the Business partners, the Direct Tax Team, as well as with external advisors in the respective region on tax planning projects to ensure an efficient communication and proper implementation of the respective tax projects. Ultimately responsible to help ensuring proper compliance throughout the respective region for the full cycle of Direct tax activities, including tax accounting, tax payments, tax return, and tax planning.
8. Work closely with the Transfer Pricing team to ensure proper documentation for the respective region.
9. Support and assist with the quarterly FAS109 tax packages (deferred tax) and proper recording of all direct taxes in cooperation with the rest of the CFS team and US Corporate Tax Department. This includes the calculation and tracking of Direct tax exposures and risks under FIN 48 as well as any Sox reporting.


CERINTE

The candidate should have a deep knowledge of:

* Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Finance or Tax with focus on tax
* At least 8 -10 years Direct tax experience, international experience, focus on processes and proven leadership expertise. Ideally a portion of this experience would come from a public accounting firm (Big 4).
* Local GAAP and international GAAP (IFRS) knowledge
* U.S. GAAP knowledge
* Local income tax expertise
* ERP systems knowledge (including SAP R/3 and Oracle) a plus
* Hyperion knowledge (Enterprise/HFM) a plus
* Experience in managing large, regional and/or global teams
* Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and planning skills.
* Strong English skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), Internet and e-mail.
