Vendio is developing an innovative comparison shopping service called Dealio (www.dealio.com) that brings the best prices to shoppers, and takes the hassle out of comparing prices. This position works closely with Product Management, Engineering, and QA to ensure Dealio provides optimal search relevancy and integrity.
* Write, trouble-shoot and maintain the regular expressions that allow Dealio to automate product searches.
* Configure, trouble-shoot and maintain Dealio's Product Feed Importer to ensure merchant product feeds are imported correctly.
* Manage internal Web-based tools to help streamline and automate daily tasks
* Good knowledge of regular expressions is a must!
* Analytical and problem solving skills, combined with a persistent drive to understand why problems occurred, fix underlying causes, and suggest improvements that further improve the system
* Keen attention to the details that affect Dealio's search performance
* Able to write sophisticated regular expressions
* Web-savvy: understanding of HTML, Web servers, and FTP operations
* Working knowledge of MySQL, Unix and code versioning systems
* Bachelors degree, preferably in a technical or quantitative field
* Able to test existing but also new regular expressions against stored data. Knowledge of QA test procedures and techniques is a plus.
