Position Summary
Through immersive interactivity and actionable analytics, Adobe® Digital Publishing Suite can engage readers and pinpoint content performance across devices -including Apple iPad and Android™ tablets. Digital Publishing Suite in combination with InDesign CS5 provides hosted services, viewer technology and tools to create, deliver, monetize, and optimize digital publications.
As Software QE Developer, you will work with a team of talented developers and quality engineers within the Adobe Digital Publishing team. You will perform testing of Adobe RMSDK and associated server-side services. You will be responsible for developing test frameworks and test applications for core code libraries and services, automation scripting as well as end-user testing.
Responsibilities:
* Works closely with development counterpart, can read and understand production code.
* Performs user and workflow testing, exhibiting ability through analytic skill and experience to anticipate the larger ramifications and interactions of a bug.
* Performs in‐depth product testing such as writing and executing test applications and scripts, and writing test specifications from product specifications with moderate supervision.
* Can use, understand, and write new automated tests for owned areas.
* Achieves product area expertise: able to answer questions, review features.
* Writes documentation for related areas which independently follows up on issues and communicates status to management in a timely manner.
* Conveys information clearly and effectively within bug reports and documentation.
Requirements:
* Strong Computer Science background and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
* Advanced knowledge of one core operating system and functional in at least one other.
* Good knowledge of software testing fundamentals.
* Good understanding of common testing methodologies and ability to apply them.
* Ability to understand and interpret product specifications.
* Good problem solving and diagnostic skills, experience with troubleshooting.
* Knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript
* Knowledge of at least one programming language, preferable Java.
* Knowledge of Adobe PDF and ePUB e-‐book, mobile and embedded systems is a big plus.
* Excellent exploratory, debugging and problem solving skills.
* Enthusiastic, creative and have the desire to innovate.
* Passionate about computer science, developing software and internet applications.
* Enjoys technical challenges and is capable of proposing and evaluating a solution against requirements, demonstrates strong customer focus.
* Committed to the highest levels of quality, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Spoken and written English proficiency
