The Adobe AIR team in Bucharest is looking for a talented and passionate quality engineer to join us.
The Adobe® AIR® 2 runtime enables developers to use HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash® software, and ActionScript® to build web applications that run as standalone client applications without the constraints of a browser. Adobe AIR, a key component of the Flash Platform, unleashes the creativity of designers and developers by providing a consistent and flexible development environment for the delivery of applications across devices and platforms. Support for Android™ BlackBerry™ Tablet OS and iOS* mobile operating system, and TVs is now available.
Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer in Test within the AIR team you will help us make sure the project meets the quality expectations of the end-user and the company standards. You will:
* Work closely with the development counterpart to ensure the quality of the product
* Develop small applications to use for testing or demo purposes
* Create and execute test plans
* Design and write manual or automated tests
* Run manual or automated test cases and report the findings
* Interact with the AIR customers through Adobe Forums
For this job we are searching for people with the skills and knowledge listed below. However, if you are an excellent Quality Engineer with deep understanding of testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle and you are confident you can quickly pick up any of them, we would love to hear from you.
# Education in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent; (B.S. or M.S. degree is a plus) Good software development background, knowledge of programming fundamentals
# Passion for web technologies, sharp eye for detail and critical thinking abilities
# Ability to easily learn new technologies
# Ability to understand and interpret product specifications
# Good problem solving and diagnostic skills, experience with troubleshooting
# Relevant experience in working with HTML / CSS / JavaScript / AJAX applications
# Knowledge of at least one scripting language (python, ruby, etc)
# Familiar with automated testing tools
# Excellent written and verbal communication skills
# Fluent in English both verbal and written
We consider a plus:
# Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript/AJAX
# Knowledge of software testing fundamentals
# Understanding of common testing methodologies and ability to apply them
# Experience with automated testing tools
# Experience in developing test automation frameworks
# Knowledge about developing applications based on ActionScript / Flex / Flash
# Testing and / or developing mobile applications
# Understanding of agile development concepts
