Job description

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will work with a team of talented developers and quality engineers within the Dreamweaver Services Team. You will be responsible with the quality for one of the services in the Dreamweaver ecosystem. The service you will be managing will be similar to Adobe InContext Editing or Adobe BrowserLab.

You must be able to set realistic testing schedules and staff against a plan, able to modify or improve existing quality processes. You will create and measure quality goals and processes for the quality team, as well as independently appraise risks and reports status to management in a timely and informative manner. You will have to have or cultivate a deep understanding of our customers, their business, needs, the tools they use and main workflows.

Through analytic skills and experience, you will anticipate the larger ramifications and interactions of potential problems and provide useful mitigation strategies. As a skilled manager, you will effectively and diplomatically communicate risks to all involved while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor when working with peers.

Responsibilities

- Manages a team of diverse Quality Engineers, grows this team by autonomously managing the hiring process in collaboration with Adobe Recruiting and HR
- Achieves product area expertise: able to answer questions, review features
- Oversees the development and maintenance of automation and testing tools
- Writes quality goals and plans; Manages tests created by team; Sets workloads; Prioritizes work; Delegates assignments; Supervises and evaluates work
- With a strong QE experience, is able to take on and demonstrate testing tasks to junior contributors; Coach and grow team members testing skills
- Evaluates and communicates bug trends
- Leads team meetings; Sets team direction; Meets deadlines
- Holds regular one on ones with direct reports
- Communicates project and team status and conveys information clearly and effectively; Reports status to senior management
- Works directly with development counterpart
- Projects self-confidence, authority, enthusiasm
- Modifies and improves existing quality processes
- Explores new opportunities for team improvement; Can delegate and balance tasks across the team through creative problem solving and flexibility
- Maintains team morale
- Commands the respect of others; Work effectively with other functions (development and product management)


CERINTE

For this job we are searching for people with:

- B.S or M.S. degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering or equivalent
- 5-7 years QE experience or equivalent industry experience out of which 1-5 years management experience
- Knowledge of the web space (understanding web professionals)
- Advanced knowledge of one core operating system and functional in at least one other.
-Deep knowledge of software testing fundamentals.
-Deep understanding of common testing methodologies and ability to apply them.
-Experience testing client-server software.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Superior time management skills.
-Superior people management skills.
-Fluent in English (both written and spoken)

Nice to have:
-Experience working with JavaScript/AJAX/Flex/ActionScript/CSS
-Working knowledge of SQL and database applications
-Experience in creating/designing user interfaces and defining user workflows
- Programming experience in web technologies (PHP, ColdFusion, ASP, ASP .NET) and web authoring tools
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum)
