Job Mission:
Take on a localization test role at Bratys Development Romania, understanding the whole software development process to provide efficient tests of TVtrip websites.
Understand the entire software development process and how it fits into the business approach and the goals of the organization. Implement quality tests (relative to the data, the code, the architecture). Provide timely bug detection reports and to meet certain milestones. Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high quality. Follow the development of the new functionalities in order to deploy specifics tests. Force of proposition to improve processes and applications.
Key Areas Of Responsibility:
• Test TVtrip’s localised international sites
• Carry out UI testing to identify localisation defects
o Ensure that pages render correctly, all text is translated, no truncated strings, or layout problems
• Carry out basic functionality testing to ensure sites behave as expected.
o Ensure that functional defects have not been introduced during the localisation process.
• Identify and report bugs found on the international sites
• Verify bug fixes on the international sites
• Manage localisation test servers – liaise with lab/development/test and build teams, troubleshoot problems, ensure servers are kept up-to-date
• Liaise with the Localisation engineer to test bi-weekly builds and hotfixes
• Create test schedules in co-operation with other Localisation team members
• Develop localisation testing plans and scripts
• Manage in-country team testing – provide technical assistance and guidance to in-country reviewers on areas to test (Europe, USA, Asia)
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of the features of TVtrip’s sites.
• Carry out testing of features on international sites
Requirements / Qualifications:
Essential:
• Computer Science degree or equivalent.
• Basic software engineering skills.
• min 2 years relevant experience.
• Technical writing abilities.
• Knowledge in web technologies (HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript) on Java platforms (Tomcat / Linux).
• Basic database knowledge (MySQL)
• Eye for details.
• Persistent in looking for problems.
• Good ability in analytic approach of needs.
• Awareness of basic usability rules/ best practices.
• General web skills (web servers, Apache).
• Technically aware (cross device programming, new technologies etc).
• Knowledge of Bugtracking systems such as Mantis.
• Good communication skills: able to present in front of a group of people.
• Language: English (working knowledge)
Desirable:
• Some Corporate Testing experience or web programming knowledge.
• Multi-lingual development.
