Main tasks and responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of Planning, Cost Management, Contract Management, Document Control and Risk Management including techniques, systems, staff, training and development, in order to provide the company with an efficient and professional project services capability
Ensure that Project Control techniques and practices within the company are compatible with specific types of contract work -in particular the differing demands of separate business streams - and that staff are trained adequately in these differences
Read, understand and implement the company safety policy and the arrangements described in the company and area Safety Management System documents in relation to the planning function
Develop and implement planning techniques, which address the above objectives and provide the correct tools for project execution
Ensure that all techniques are supported by adequate computerised systems, which are designed and applied in an efficient and user-friendly fashion
Ensure that all job requirements; techniques and systems are properly documented in terms of Job Descriptions, Departmental Procedures and User Manuals
Ensure efficient interfaces with Cost Estimating, Cost Control and Document Control functions and develop good communications with these related departments
Carry out regular reviews of planning practices/quality on all projects to ensure that Project Control objectives are being met
Assign qualified, experienced and competent staff to projects by managing the specification, recruitment, training and development of Project Control personnel
Carry out periodic appraisals of staff performance and discuss/agree individual development plans in order to provide and safeguard the future company staffing needs
Manage the allocated Overhead Budget on an annual basis within any Departmental and/or Company constraints with a view to achieving optimum benefit from the investment
Contribute as necessary to general Project Services objectives and co-operate as required with the other Project Services disciplines
Main requirements:
University degree
Minimum 8 years experience in projects in petroleum / oil & gas industry or similar
Familiar with the management and reporting of project controls
Skills in project management software
Ability to work with teams, and with a variety of persons and organizations having diverse issues, concerns and agendas
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, in particular around conflict resolution and relationship building
Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions
Knowledge and ability to facilitate meetings, conduct effective briefings and presentations and to develop consensus, both internally and externally
