To successfully deliver large projects or a number of smaller projects for a designated sector or client to the committed time, quality and financial objectives. Working closely with the client and the Sales & Demand organization, understanding and managing their expectations through the delivery process.
Scope:
- Reporting to delivery managers for general performance
- Functional reporting to P & L owners for project performance
- No direct reports, but project manages a team of Consultants and Team Leaders on client projects
- Works closely with License Sales and Practice Consulting
- Works as required with designated Oracle Partners and third parties
- Works towards geography Consulting margin target and country project profitability targets
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Influencing Demand in generating bids to ensure they reflect realistic project delivery
- Reviewing bids to ensure a thorough understanding of the client requirements
- Producing Project Plans that outline the Project Management processes and include:
- Estimates, a quality plan, key deliverables, resources required, roles and responsibilities, risks, issues and dependencies according to Oracle’s quality standards
- Driving the implementation of the Project Plan
- Providing leadership, motivation and direction for the Project Team
-Directly managing the performance of the Consultants on the project
- Monitoring the progress against the Project Plan
- Producing regular and accurate progress reports for the Client, the Project Team, the Oracle Project Sponsor and Oracle Consulting Management
- Controlling resource utilization and project expenditure
- Managing Oracle’s commercial project responsibilities as appropriate to specific project circumstances
- Managing changes to the Project Plan
- Identifying and communicating to the Oracle Project Sponsor and Sales any opportunities for new business
- Ensuring clients are satisfied with the delivered project
- Undertake billable work as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Generate a Project Plan for each project which fully reflect the bid requirements
- Communicate the plan and gain client buy-in and agreement
- Regularly update the client on progress against Plan
- Generate Change Request Forms as required and obtain appropriate client approval
- Generate Closure Reports and ensure receipt of Acceptance Certificate(s)
- Secure client satisfaction
- Achieve target project margin
KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
- Proven ability to interact with customers at senior level
- Minimum 2,5 years Project management experience in one of the following preferred industries:
- Public Sector
- Financial Services
- Telco
- Having participated in one or more international projects – an advantage
- Experience in Oracle implementation projects – an advantage
- Willingness to travel (within the country)
- Fluent in at least English (spoken, written), with additional language skills preferred
