Under general direction of a Division Manager or Director, performs civil and structural engineering work related to the planning and design of projects, including drafting and writing comprehensive project proposals for public and private beneficiaries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare proposals for Public and Private Civil engineering projects, namely, roads, buildings, water systems and sewage.
Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids.
Prepare technical construction specifications.
Generally assist with all financial procurement, programme and construction issues.
Perform Civil engineering duties surrounding the following; public works, buildings, sub-divisions, drainage, traffic, road, airport, tunnel, bridge, water supply, sewage, and environmental systems.
Manage construction document printing process.
Manage project issues, budgets, and schedules.
Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
Provide on-the-job training to new staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or similar.
Strong leadership and team building skills. Planning and organizational skills.
Knowledge of applicable national, regional and local building codes and safety laws. Knowledge of methods, practices, crafts, tools, equipment, codes, drawings, specifications, and control systems of the construction business. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Working knowledge of CAD tools.
Three years of engineering experience. Requires registration as a Professional Engineer.
Experience in ISPA Programs contracting and FIDIC Contract development and execution.
Work requires travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections.
Work requires knowledge of English or Spanish as second language.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
