1. Java/Ruby on Rails developer with Linux network admin capabilities

The ideal candidate has the following skills:

¿ Extensive experience developing web applications, especially the back-end of high-scalability/availability sites
¿ Thorough knowledge with web standards, such as XHTML, XML, JavaScript, HTTP
¿ Strong data structure and OO-design skills
¿ A penchant for test-driven development
¿ Helpful experience includes: Java, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Python, PHP, Ajax, RSS, web services
¿ Expert knowledge of MySQL database server and database design
¿ 3-5 years experience in complex web-systems administration
¿ Expert knowledge of Apache web server, FastCGI and LightHttpd
¿ Expert knowledge of MySQL database server
¿ Expert knowledge of TCP/IP
¿ Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems (distribution agnostic)
¿ Operating familiarity with load balancing hardware
¿ Familiarity with the Java programming language
¿ Strong scripting skills (Perl, PHP, Shell, Ruby, etc)
¿ Strong SQL skills
¿ Strong communication skills in English
¿ Enthusiasm for work in a 24/7/365 start up environment

Department: Engineering, reporting to CTO

Ideally suited candidates will possess these characteristics:

3. Web UI Designer

Department: Engineering, reporting to CTO

You should have a passion for the web, media, good design and creating great user experiences. You will work closely with Product Management and Engineering to map out user models, streamline experiences, and produce both high-level flows and detailed HTML mock-ups. You will also need to be fairly technical to communicate effectively with our engineers to understand issues when they arise.

Requirements:

¿ Three+ years of software development (at least two focused on web applications)
¿ Strong cross-browser html/JavaScript/DOM coding skills
¿ Expert cross-browser CSS skills
¿ Proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio or other similar programs you are effective with
¿ Demonstrable knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies
¿ Strong visual design skills
¿ Strong communication skills in English
