I. Job Scope
Provide comprehensive Production Engineering expertise to the Field Development team undertaking field development studies, development plan revisions, implementation of field life extensions and optimal exploitation of hydrocarbons. Develop, improve and maintain disciplinary technical standards in all applications related to Production Technology.
II. Main Responsibilities
Planning and forecasting duties
- Participate in the preparation of development plans, technical feasibility and optimization studies to ensure project value is maximized
- Establish engineering standards and processes for oil well pumping, gas lift technology and well interventions
- Investigate the implementation of new mechanical or process technologies
- Support application and quality of Artificial Lift Technologies including proposals for improvements
- Provide specifications of oilfield equipment and services, prepares technical tender documents, participates in tendering processes and consolidates annual demand of oilfield equipment and services
Industry knowledge
- Keep abreast of the evolution in the petroleum engineering / production technology area, with reference to techniques and equipment, in order to improve performance and reduce costs
- Keep close contact to providers of well services and to suppliers of oilfield equipment
- Support the administration of all relevant technologies in internal documents to keep the top management posted
- Identify opportunities to apply relevant technologies, both conventional and unconventional, and workflows to the business, and improving and building on them
Organization
- Organize discussions, meetings, workshops, seminars, presentations, field visits and supports training / development of workforce when required
- Provide engineering support for optimization and improvement of equipment
- Evaluate / propose optimization of sub-contractors
- Ensuring integrity and quality of technical evaluations / works
- Participate in technical reviews for projects
- Provide and implement fit-for-purpose production technologies to maximize project value
Coordination
- Co-ordinate with the Assets, Project & Engineering, and Drilling on the flow of project approval documentation, timing, resources, post implementation results & data documentation
- Communicate all production technology planning with project leaders and with the functional departments (HSEQ, etc.)
- Provide support for the development, production and abandonment activities
- Co-ordinate with Field Development Team on production technology, petroleum engineering contributions to the projects
- Co-ordinate with all relevant service providers to ensure that all services provided are properly documented, checked, and entered in company’s data base system
Reporting
- Report any ongoing activities / status / projects within the Production Engineering Department to the line managers and peers
- Support document update and archiving process
Job requirements
- Degree in petroleum engineering or any other related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years experience in oil & gas industry of which more than 5 years in Petroleum Engineering / Production Technology and oil/gas field operations experience
- Experience and knowledge of Best Practices in artificial lift, well intervention and production of conventional and heavy oil&gas
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and excellent communication skills
- Strong technical, coaching, team work and communication skills with an ability to work in a multi-discipline and /or multi-cultural environment
- Understanding of “value optimized” Asset/Field Management (“life cycle oriented productivity / cost management”)
- Understanding of planning, economics and controlling (Opex, Capex, investment decisions)
- Proficient in the use of the industry standard production technology tools including OFM, PROSPER, RodStar and PCPump
Success criteria:
