Works with executives to identify, develop and implement effective and productive product management strategies and plans from purchasing to sale
Directs definition of product management tactical plans for each product area in conjunction with managers and business unit directors, ensuring that tactical plans reflect strategic objectives
Implements established marketing research and purchasing strategies and plans through product managers
Responsible for supervision of negotiating price, delivery, credit terms and stock management
Analyze information on new product for financial and market potential and directs strategic development of the product portfolio
Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers
Directs personnel activities of product management team (i.e. hires, fires, trains, appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines)
Manage and ensure achievement of all product management related key-performance indicators
Coordinates activities of the department with employee education, sales, and customer support to resolve issues that affect product success
Keeps executive-level management informed of departmental progress and problems
Responsible for resource allocation, including budget and personnel
- Bachelor's degree in business/engineering/ marketing or equivalent
- At least ten years of experience in IT product management environment with at least three years leadership experience of large teams and/or extensive experience in IT sales
- High level of knowledge of IT products, IT market and distribution business
- High level of knowledge of long-range and operational planning techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent knowledge of English language
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of an ERP is an advantage
