1) Collaborate with Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance, and Production as necessary
2) Organize and control day-to-day activities of the Packaging Department
3) Ensure daily manufacturing schedules are met and all documentation is processed and released to meet ship dates
4) Assign employees their daily tasks
5) Ensure adherence to daily packaging schedule
6) Work with the Maintenance Department to promote an environment of continuous improvement
7) Ensure that the GMPs, safety, sanitation, and other records are maintained
8) Troubleshoot packaging line problems
9) Monitor packaging material inventory and manage packaging development
10) Coordinate with all aspects of packaging through the completion of orders
11) Resolve packaging problems and work with Quality Control on the same
12) Review projects with the Plant Manager
13) Work to reduce costs, simplify processes/operations, and improve product quality
14) Understand duties of each team member sufficiently to offer assistance as needed
15) Work effectively with other management team members
16) Provide leadership and expertise to packaging employees
17) Work in conjunction with Warehouse Supervisor on shipping operations
18) Ensure safety standards are complied with and employees work in a safe manner
19) Ensure customer requirements are met
20) Ensure packaging reports are completely and accurately filled out and done in a timely fashion
21) Conduct or attend staff meetings
22) Design packaging processes or methods and develop plans for programs / projects
22) Ensure product is compatibility to pack prior to packaging
23) Apply long term and short-term packaging planning techniques
24) Establish, promote, and maintain safety standards utilizing employee meetings, Safety Committee, and effective training
25) Work closely with Production Manager and Plant Services Manager to ensure efficient execution of the production schedule
26) Ensure all changeovers are completed in a timely fashion and the production standards met or exceeded
27) Monitor the warehouse operations to ensure maximization of the space, proper rotation of materials, and cleanliness
28) Ensure finished product to be shipped meets specifications and is shipped in a timely fashion as per customer requirements
29) Ensure product flow in the tank system
1) BS technical degree or related field
2) Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in packaging; experience in production - foods
3) Ability to manage diverse projects simultaneously
4) Ability to manage people
5) Outstanding team-building skills, communication, trust, creativity, and flexibility
6) Ability to perform well under pressure
7) Ability to work well in a cross-functional team
8) Excellent communication skills both - oral and written
