Oracle On Demand is seeking Oracle Database Administrators with experience working in Oracle Applications and Unix environments to be a part of the Global Software Operations Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualified candidates will have unparalled exposure and opportunity to manage mission critical enterprise Oracle Databases & Applications using state-of-the-art tools and processes in the following areas:
-Architecture & Provisioning of environments (build standard configurations including RAC, multi-middle tier, DMZ and PCP configurations as necessary, install and maintain the EM Monitoring Infrastructure);
-Change Management tasks (Apply Oracle Applications patches, manage Technology stack configurations and control services);
-Incident Management, Monitoring & Technical Assistance, including Production and Performance diagnostics, technology assessments and troubleshooting complex problems;
-Release Management tasks including technology stack upgrades, periodic maintenance plans, critical patch updates and point release upgrades.
-A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or higher;
-2 or more years of experience as Oracle Database Administration on the 9i or 10g platform on Unix variants in production environments;
-Experience in remote administration of databases at multiple locations is highly desirable;
-Expertise in Oracle Apps 11i Troubleshooting, Installation, Patching, Patch analysis, Cloning, Maintenance, Migration, Upgrade, Concurrent Manager, Maintenance Pack application, JDK, JInitiator, Tuning, System Administration, Form Server;
-Oracle DBA experience in DB tuning, SQL tuning, Database migration, Backup and Recovery, RMAN, OEM and SQL/PLSQL;
-Exposure to databases in a RAC environment would be an added advantage;
-OCP DBA Certification and knowledge of ITSM best practices would be a plus;
-Excellent verbal and written Communication skills in English.
