Oracle On Demand is a complete software management service, which lets Oracle experts manage customers Oracle software. On Demand enables customers to focus on business activities, while Oracle maintains their software and improves system availability, security and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oracle On-Demand is seeking a dynamic and analytical Operations Manager for its Center in Bucharest. This individual will lead a world-class operations team responsible for managing Databases and Oracle Enterprise Applications for Oracle's global customers. Experience with managing IT infrastructure and corporate systems of an international organization and proven experience in managing production enterprise applications is highly desirable.

The Operations Manager will lead and manage a growing and specialized team of Database and Applications DBA's. This individual will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, quality and productivity of the Center. Additionally, they will be the primary point of contact for Asia, America and Europe based teams and must therefore be comfortable and confident liaising with remote teams. The team is responsible for managing Oracle Database, Oracle Applications and some third party applications for Oracle’s customers.

The Operations Manager will manage performance expectations and goals, monitoring real time service levels and schedule adherence, and ensuring the Bucharest teams meet and exceed their performance targets. In addition he or she will be responsible for driving professional development and growth of the Bucharest team. Person will also be responsible for establishing metrics and measures for tracking and improving quality of deliverables from the team.
The successful candidate will identify individual strengths of team members and contribute to talent advancement along with succession planning opportunities within the company. The ideal candidate actively seeks to understand On Demands core business values and initiatives, and translates those into everyday practices.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
-Full accountability for meeting On Demand operational goals for Bucharest team;
-Ensuring high quality standards for interviewing and hiring employees at all levels of the organization;
-Directing special projects that relate to Bucharest staff development and workflow, communicating project status and results to remote management;
-Strategic planning and forecasting;
-Developing relationships with local contracting firms to deploy a variable workforce using contract DBA's;
-Working with the local facilities, HR, transportation, compensation and country operations heads to ensure On Demand teams local needs are met;
-Manage quality, cost and expanding scope of services.


CERINTE

-A Bachelor’s Degree or higher;
-A Masters Degree and ITIL or Six-Sigma certification is preferred;
-5 to 10 years successful management experience in related and progressively responsible positions;
-At least 2 years experience reporting to remote management and leading mission-critical operations;
-Familiarity with enterprise hardware/software and production systems architecture (multi-processor systems, shared storage, Linux, load balancers, high availability services, databases);
-Intermediate to advanced Oracle Database Concepts, Oracle Enterprise Applications, UNIX/Linux skills required. Intermediate SQL skills required;
-Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked, high-energy environment;
-Creative and analytical problem solvers with a passion for operational excellence;
-Strong analytical, mediation and problem resolution skills;
-Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex organizational issues;
-Experience in tracking record of employee development (including an emphasis on selection and retention);
-Demonstrated leadership skills with a bias towards action, supporting a culture of ownership and learning;
-Experience in managing mission-critical teams in a developing organization;
-24/7/365 availability, including willingness to work on weekends, and outside of the "standard" work day.
