Main purpose of the job:
Responsible for coordination and administration of computerized databases.
Other responsibilities:
- Responsible for base definition, structure, documentation, long range requirements, operational guidelines and protection;
- Must ensure accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools such as base dictionaries;
- Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls;
- Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management;
- May be responsible for delivering some level of conceptual design, logical database, capacity planning, external data interface specifications, data loading plan, data maintenance plan and security policy;
- Documents and communicates database design features;
- May perform some program coding and identify logical processes on technical platform;
- Builds window, screen and reports for clients;
- Participates in quality assuarance and develops test applications for client server environment;
- Responsible for negotiating any tables and fields provided in the database;
- Adapts business requirements, developed by development staff and systems engineers, to define database specifications, table and element attributes for an application.
THE JOB IS BASED IN TIMISOARA
3+ years of ORACLE database administration experience; (more than 5 years - advantage)
Knowledge of Oracle grid control would be an advantage
Excellent experience in 9i and 10g on UNIX platforms (SUN/ HP/ AIX);
Deep knowledge in many areas of database administration:
- Standby databases (Data guard)
- Backup and recovery (RMAN)
- Performance analysis and tuning
- Patching and upgrading databases
Fluent in English (written and spoken);
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge in 10g Grid Control administration and usage;
- Knowledge in 10g Real Application Cluster (RAC)administration;
- Knowledge in Oracle Application Server (OAS) administration.
