We are seeking for a highly motivated developer, a candidate with excellent problem solving and technical skills who is eager to help move our product forward and wants to join a team of experienced, professional engineers, designers, marketers and architects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core modules of our new architecture to support all our products
- Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server side logic
- Writing reusable, testable, maintainable, and efficient code
- Write unit tests
- Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
- Implementation of security and data protection
- Integration of data storage solutions
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript
- Knowledge of Node.js and frameworks available for it (such as Express, StrongLoop, etc. ) or Excellent knowledge with server side languages, like PHP, Python, Ruby
- Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
- Understanding accessibility and security compliance
- User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
- Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
- Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
- Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, SVN
- Experience with RESTful web services design, development and integration into web applications
- Well-balanced between efficiency and perfectionism;
- Team player who is not afraid to contribute ideas & who is not upset if voted down;
- Experienced with agile methodologies;
- Working knowledge of Linux server administration & good idea about server infrastructure;
Nice to have Qualifications/Skills
- Good understanding of server-side templating languages (such as Jade, EJS, etc.)
- Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors (such as Less, Saas, Stylus etc.)
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with Python, Perl or with a JS framework (AngularJS, ReactJS, etc)
- Experience with Amazon environments: AWS, Elastic Search, etc
- Experience with different caching systems: Varnish, Memcached, Redis
- Good Virtualization knowledge: VirtualBox, Vagrant, Docker
Current stage of the project:
At the present moment the Ownzones team located here, in Romania is composed of back-end and front-end web developers&architects working on the reconstruction of the streaming platform. The romanian team was formed aprox. 8 months ago, and and its purpose is to be involved exclusively in the development area of the project. This is an opportunity to join a recently formed development team, and to be actively involved in the technology stack completion for the development process.
