- Performs a variety of network management functions related to the engineering, installation operation, performance or availability of data communications networks.
- Able to work with various protocols/technologies including, but not limited to TCP/IP, Fiber, Frame Relay, ATM, SONET, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), OSPF, BGP, VOIP, QOS, MPLS, switching and video.
- Must be able to lead a team of network engineers.
-Creates and maintains router and switch configurations. Identifies network performance issues and recommends and takes corrective action.
- LAN/WAN consultant skilled in network analysis, integration and tuning.
- Experience with cable/LAN meters, protocol analyzers, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Remote Monitoring (RMON) based software products.
- Supports organizations engineering and integrating into the WAN backbone infrastructure.
- Acts as the primary technical expert for a staff planning the design, installation, and tests.
- Responsible for functional security requirements definition, test planning and certification, and reviewing design documents.
- Identification of LAN hardware for procurement - installs, configures and maintains servers and desktops, creates monitoring reports and logs, and ensures functionality of links.
- Responsible for configuration management and documentation of network and system topologies and/or website.
- Must have broad experience in systems administration of a large Windows network environment.
- Interpretation of requirements and architect solutions, implement the architected solutions and support the same on-going, provide guidance to personnel.
- Supporting installed switches, routers, wireless access points, PIX firewalls and VPN clients.
- Supports the network infrastructure of outsourcing arrangements.
- Analyzes various performance/trending reports.
- Provides expert technical assistance and advice to sites for the prompt resolution of network performance related problems.
- Documents findings, resolutions, and reports.
- Provides recommendations for determining and setting network performance thresholds.
- Identifies trends that indicate network performance problems.
- Monitor and analyze performance impaired equipment on the network.
- Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, and orchestrating the timely repair of performance-impaired equipment on the WAN (Wide Area Network).
- Minimum 5 years experience in heterogeneous network administration in companies from energetic or telecommunications fields
