RESPONSABILITATI

- Short and long range planning and plan implementation to achieve the company objectives.
- Overall technical performance and quality of engineering and design on all assigned projects in his/her geographical area of responsibility.
- Assisting the Director of Operations in assigning qualified Project Engineering Managers and Discipline Supervising Engineers for each project.
- Assisting the Business Development Department in proposal preparation and in presenting Company capabilities.
- Cooperating with Project Engineering Managers and Chief Discipline Engineers in client relations regarding engineering problems.
- Monitoring compliance with state law requirements related to practice of engineering
Relationships:
- This is a middle management position.
- The Manager of Engineering reports to the Director of Operations, supervises the Chief Discipline Engineers and maintains management level relationship with all the other departmental heads of the company.
- Ensure contact, full communication and coordination with the corporate Engineering Functional Leader and the Managers of Engineering at various office locations and works closely with them to coordinate all corporate objectives related to technical adequacy.
- Works closely with the Managing Director and the HR Director to coordinate resource maintenance and development in support of business units/office objectives and plans.
- Assists the Project Engineering Managers in establishing and implementing technical project requirements.
- Chair Chief Engineer Design Reviews (CEDR's) for all EP and EPC proposals (should be conducted and comments resolved prior to review to upper management).
- Ensure periodic CEDR's are conducted in accordance with the corporate policy.
- Monitor compliance with governing, applicable engineering laws for projects in his/her jurisdiction.
- Develop short and long-range department objectives and implement actions to meet those objectives.
- Develop and maintain a qualified engineering organization consistent with present needs and future project requirements.
- Assist in assigning Project Engineering Managers and monitor the assignments of Supervising Discipline Engineers to projects.
- Coordinate activities between Project Engineering Managers and Chief Discipline Engineers.
- Assist in the development of major design criteria with client's engineers with the Project Managers, the Chief Discipline Engineers, the Project Engineering Managers and Business Unit Managers.
- Provide counsel in the development of basic designs and equipment specifications as related to accepted industry practices and standards.
- Establish engineering quality and performance controls with the Project Engineering Managers and the Chief Discipline Engineers.
- Manage the preparation of engineering proposals and participate in business development presentations as required.
- Coordinate, and recommend to the Director of Operations, bulletins, standards and guides for engineering, drafting and specifications.
- Authorize scheduled overtime, approve all overhead charges, and approve all additions and separations in direct reporting engineering staff.
- Evaluate the qualifications and performance of all Project Engineering Managers and Chief Discipline Engineers. Approve individual promotions and salary adjustments for engineering personnel within Company policy and budget.
- Manage development of subordinates through job assignments and Company programs.
- Encourage professional advancement and knowledge through participation in industry engineering societies, committees and conferences, and in industry sales presentation.
- Establish and maintain an environment conducive to attracting capable personnel and achieving high productivity.
- Monitor compliance with state laws/regulations related to practice of engineering.


CERINTE

Education:
- Bachelor¿s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
- Fluent English Language is a must. Knowledge of additional foreign languages is a plus.
- Reasonable proficiency in MS Office applications is required as well as familiarity with up-to-date 2D and 3D engineering and design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, PDS, etc.)
- Master of Science or Doctorate in specialty discipline is an advantage.
- Management and business administration post-graduation courses are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years total engineering experience with at least 5 years of this experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Must be a licensed professional engineer.
- Ability to manage a mid size to large size engineering group. Previous experience, in a similar position, with a multi-national company is an important advantage.
- Previous site experience is an advantage.
