Localization

Localization is the process of adaptation of a software to different markets throughout the world. Basically it consists in managing the translation, recordings, integration and all additional editing of a product from a source language, usually English, to several destination languages.


Project Manager Responsibilities

Localization PM is responsible for organizing and managing multilingual game localization, from Decision Making to Gold Master, finding the most suitable solutions to cope with local market objectives and technical constraints. He is also responsible in finding the translation, recordings and integration ressources for each project.

- Definition with Development Team of format, tools, and process for localization
- Budgeting and scheduling
- Setting up and managing teams of "best fit" resources
- Taking on outsourcing responsibilities and all the related administrative and contractual tasks.
- Ensuring quality and deadlines are met
- "Educating" development teams (internal and external)
- Depending on the projects, you may work within the development team and/or in collaboration with another Localization PM possibly based abroad.
- Regular communication with Localization PM worldwide Montreal/Paris/Bucharest/Shanghai) is required as part of an international team to exchange questions and best practices.
- Daily contact with development teams and partners worldwide.


CERINTE

Strong organizational and communication skills
Fluent English (written and spoken), interest in other languages/cultures
A fluent second foreign language is an advantage
Good understanding of video game production
Excellent computer and Internet literacy
Leadership and problem solving abilities
Interest towards the culture of internationalization, foreign culture and mentalities
