Data Path Acceleration Team, part of NMG Romania, provides embedded networking solutions for the last generation QorIQ® communications processors, including drivers, demo applications and benchmarking on Linux operating system.
Joining this team will get you in contact with the cutting-edge platforms that Freescale delivers to the major players in the telecommunication market: multiple processing cores and high performance networking accelerators integrated on the same silicon chip.
Working with protocols like Ethernet, IP/UDP, IPSec, Wimax a.s.o you will gain experience in developing telecom applications for 2+G, 3G, 4G platforms.
You will develop software in a professional environment according with the CMMI standards.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations Development and maintenance of Linux modules that enable our customers to create networking applications using Freescale products:
Main responsibilities:
•To analyze customers product requirements
•To design the architecture of the network device drivers integration on Linux, port them to the new architectures and to manage the core offloading on accelerators
•To optimize and maintain the existing modules
•To collaborate with the external teams and ensure the compatibility with the modules delivered by them
•To develop solutions for the validation of the software products
•To develop software solutions following the software development process specifications described by CMMI
To ensure your successful performance in this role, the following working experience is a must:
•Software development experience using Linux kernel modules and device drivers development and debugging
•Embedded application development, using C and assembly programming (assembly would be a plus)
•L2 and L3 networking protocols implementation (e.g. Eth/IP/UDP)
•Concurrent programming (multi-threading/process, Linux SMP)
•Software performance analysis and optimization techniques
Working experience in job automation and scripting languages would be a plus. Experience with GNU toolchain is also a plus.
